Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Summary

Position Summary

This position is responsible for all accounting and administrative activities related Accounts Payable including purchasing, AP, cattle scheduling and payments, maintenance scheduling, maintaining inventory of supplies, and reordering when low. Working with the Maintenance Supervisor to schedule Maintenance tasks and order supplies and parts. Manage the approved supplier program. Working with various vendors to optimize company resources.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify invoice and requisitions for goods and services.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Ensure that all food-safety sensitive shipments such as chemicals and packaging are inspected upon arrival and manage any claims for inadequate deliveries.
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
  • Data entry of invoices for payment
  • Manage the weekly check run, including ACH transactions and web payments.
  • Work with cattle procurement to maintain cattle schedule and communicate to production management team
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is collected from cattle suppliers on each load
  • Work with GM and Controller to communicate daily production reports
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, do physical inventory regularly and as needed. Order more supplies as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and managing the approved supplier program

  • Optimize company resources
  • Work with maintenance supervisor to schedule maintenance tasks and maintain parts and tools inventory
  • Administrative duties: Front Desk, answering phones, mail as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 3 years Accounts Payable or Purchasing experience
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication

Fabrication Supervisor

Position Summary

Position Summary

The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for all areas of beef fabrication, further processing (including grinding and steak cutting) and shipping. This supervisor is committed to food safety and product specifications to produce high quality beef. Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost, employee retention and maintain good working relationships with other production supervisors, FSQA and maintenance employees as well as maintaining a good relationship with USDA.

  • Performs daily walks and visual inspections of the Production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Maintains safety/environmental self-audits & visual checks, champions all safety or ergonomic activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety goals.
  • Maintain desired product quality and safety. Ensure all staff and employees know and understand the Food Safety plan and the Food Quality plan.
  • Trains employees to ensure safe operating procedures are followed, including lock-out and tag-out.
  • Adheres to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain the desired product quality results.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly.
  • Ensures tasks are completed in accordance with HACCP and USDA regulations, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Walks the production floor daily and holds regular line meetings to address questions and concerns.
  • Maintain or exceed goals on yields and efficiencies.
